So let's face it, I am pretty terrible blogger, I get wrapped up in things and forget to update the blog. So here is the state of my gaming world.
Legend of the Sacred Sword is going along at an OK pace. I'd like to be faster, but I am waiting for outside resources, so that can't happen.
Chibi Crawl is simply awaiting Tom's health to improve so we can have some beta sets printed and shipped out for people to test.
The Asian Chibi Crawl is currently taking a break as I was beating my head off a wall on it.
Combat Armor Mecha Miniatures is something new. Due to more odd and lucky circumstances than are supposed to happen in quick order I will be kickstarting a small line of mecha miniatures hopefully next month once I get some art in. These figures will be anime styled and 1/285th scale (Between 35-45mm tall) and multipart, all the joints will use the exact same sized ball and socket joins, meaning parts can be swapped between models. Mechs will come as a torso, legs, right arm, left arm, head, and shoulder mounted accessories. I am currently having art developed just for this project and awaiting the arrival, I am also waiting to hear back from one sculptor, though I have contacted 2 others who are interested in the work. Presuming I get the line art back in decent order, I am going to estimate launching in about a month, possibly less.
So there is the world of my gaming stuff. Hopefully I'll get some previews of Combat Armor in the near future to get some hype built up.

Paint Sample Egyptian Eldar
Knocked out 5 Apophis Warriors to completion and 1 Bastet. I've got 3 bastets that need finished, waiting on the other box and some other heads for leader models and other characters. These aren't award winning paint jobs, just quick and easy but still table ready.
Here is one of each though.

I've got fancy bases for them to go on, they'll get rebased when I am ready. I'll take bigger unit pictures when I have the units completed. I'll have 3 squads and one heavy weapons team out of the 2 Kabalite warrior boxes. I have 3 Jet Bikes, 1 Falcon (that needs a lot of work to recover, it's missing a couple pieces and very heavily and poorly painted), 1 War Walker (missing it's gun stations though). I need to pick up 2 more old war walkers and a dreadnought and perhaps one other tank. I'd also like to get some aspect warriors, preferably Striking Scorpions and Warp Spiders. As I am not that concerned with 40k rules, I am not worried about this army being legit. If anyone has any of these that they'd like to part with drop me a line, to be fair not looking to drop a ton on them, and if they are metal and badly painted that doesn't bother me, as stripping metal is generally not too bad.

Egyptian Eldar
So I bought some Sci-Fi Egyptian Helmets from Puppet's War with no actual use for them. I pondered this for a while and decided Eldar would be a good fit, but the normal Guardians didn't work as the backpacks fit up against the heads too snug and I wasn't a huge fan of the look. So I ordered up some Dark Eldar Kabalite warriors with the intent of subbing them as Guardians. Heads fit pretty well with the Anubis heads not fitting and the Bast heads only fitting sometimes. Now I don't play 40k, but will likely be using these with Gruntz in 28mm. Howver I still may have a small but feasible 40k force when I am all done.
Here are a few pics showing the assembled figures. I apologize for the quality as they were shot with my cruddy cell phone.
Apophis Warriors

Bastet Warriors

Jet Bikes

Looking to gather a few old War Walkers and Dreadnoughts and maybe another tank of some sort and I'll be good to go.

Gundam Strategic Operations - Preview Release
I've been working out some rules for running 1/400 Gundam games as I was never satisfied with what was released for them and most other mecha games in this size presume slow clobbering mechs.
https://drive.google.com/#folders/0B_dGQQhS2y0vYTBfYm4td0tQZ0k
This rules set is designed to represent fast brutal mecha that have overpowered guns and a short life expectancy.

Modular 3x3 Terrain Board
So I had the incredible urge to try a new bit of terrain, this is a 3x3 board made of 4 1.5' panels. I should not it is far from complete, but you can get the overall premise from this. The bridge tile and the blank tile need a lot of work, the other 2 need detailed. Obviously I haven't messed with painting or anything yet. So far total expenses are about $15-$20 as all it is is Pink board and Hot Glue. I will be attempting to keep it that way.

1/400 Scale Gundam Rules
So I've had piles of these little Gundam figures floating around for a long while. I have tried to use a few rules sets with them and not found anything I appreciated. So as a quick concept set, I worked out these rules. They allow for a pretty flexible game, units moving too and fro into and out of cover. Figures do not have to activated in any order and nothing will stop you from abusing your primary figures over and over (save their slow demise as they drain out of power) The rules are rather rough being written in a single pass. Also what stat cards are done are very erratic, so proxy or write your own cards up. My only concern to date is that the DV's values may currently be too low causing the game to be too slow.
Give them a whirl and let me know.

Ultramodern City - Prototype
I started working on an Ultramodern city for playing Relic Knights and whatever else on. I am trying to avoid the city rubble look that tends to plague gaming. I am building it mostly with foamcore, cardstock and clear plastic page dividers. There are obviously going to be detaily parts which are going to be more expensive, but for now, I have spent less than $10 and have fundamentally constructed for over 15 (4"x6") buildings, 6 (12"x12") floor tiles, and am less than half way through my supplies.
Here is a quick glance at two stacked structures.

The intent is to build a bunch of these and a handful of key detail structures. Any structures with windows will have interiors designed as well. Most interiors will be glued to old gift cards that have been detailed out with chairs and such. Some walls will feature mounted screens and the like. I am endeavoring to make this as simple a project as possible and keep it cheap. Though I did just buy a police box for my wife to hide and a set of arcade machines (which will be detailed as Super Dungeon Explore arcades) to be positioned throughout the town. I'll be adding some vending machines and other fun things too.

Relic Knight Calico Kate
So I finally pieced together my Calico Kate and got her painted up, she does need a base, but otherwise is complete. Though her darn pointing arm keeps breaking off. So that will need cleaned up when I am sure it isn't going anywhere. Anyways, thought you may want a sneak peek at her now. I do have a pile of other Relic Knight figures that are in various states of assembly getting prepped to paint, it'll be a long project as the figures have tons of character and fiddly bits that don't like to stay. And I suck at pinning.

Simple Trees
So I have seen a number of simple tree designs in the past, some aren't too bad, some are insane, some look like crap, some aren't too shabby. However, I recall seeing a post once upon a time on the Heroscapers forums about some trees a gent made using something called Naturally Wired, it is wire wrapped with a sort of plant material, it is a shade of brown with natural variation. So I looked it up and managed to snag a 40' roll from JoAnn fabrics for $8. I then grabbed a few different sorts of plastic plants to experiment with, one is bamboo leaves, the other is Amazonian Phyllo, the latter I prefer, but they both work, you could use a number of other leaf types.
The construction process is pretty simple (though I didn't photograph it, but you'll be able to figure out) cut between 4 and 6 wires around an equal length. Bend about an inch of it with a pair of needle noses and keep a hold, then start twisting it all together in whatever pattern you'd like, it doesn't have to be perfect. Make some branches up top by leaving some without merging and some in smaller groups. Now grab your plant and start pulling the leaves off, leave a bit of stem behind as it will make it easier. Grab your hot glue gun and go to town, try and make them pretty. Now, I will admit, I could have gone a step farther and painted my hot glue gun blobs to hide them, but I don't really care as you'll likely never notice.
You can turn out a good quantity of these pretty easily and quickly and they are quite cheap if you do enough.

Till next time campers :D

Sci-Fi Characters, Book, Kaylee, The Doctor
I whipped up a few character models, made me really want to do more projects like this, I really enjoyed doing them.
Kaylee - To be honest, her face is kinda wonky sculpt wise, I may pick up Reapers Chrono Technician to use in her stead, but I feel that she'd be too large.

Sheperd Book - This figure is simply great, nice clean sculpt, smooth lines, wonderful to work on.

And the 11th Doctor, also a very nice sculpt, his face seems a tad large making him somewhat cartoonish, but it somehow works for him.

The Lab - WIP
Been working on a Lab to go with my Dirz, but it would work equally well for Arcanists in Malifaux. It is all made from Insulation board, Bionicle parts, PVC Pipe and fittings, and a few other oddities. The walls are all modular and 4" long. Makes it easy to rearrange bits
and bobs without a lot of complex work. Each wall is the wall section
with a 1" square post at the end, it allows me to easily swap sections around. Essentially this layout shouwld work for a wide variety of game styles, you could easily cut tiles in the floors and make the walls a more traditional dungeon for a big modular layout that can be built on the fly, I am really happy overall with this design. Now to finish it . . .this one may take a while as I have a lot of complex plans for it.

Dirz and 15mm Sci-Fi
Well, I have been busy not bothering to update my blog, but I will attempt to fix this. I have a new job working overnights at a Youth Service facility, so I have a lot of free time at night. Therefore i do what any good gamer would do, I paint.
Here are a couple Dirz figures I've been working on, one is repainted from a previous project. I have been itching to try and get Hybrid and therefore broke these guys out to practice on. I am very happy with how they turned out.

And here are 2 of my 15mm armies. I present my Eldar and my Invid. I need to get more variety of the Invid forces and gather up some vehicles to use with my Eldar knockoffs, unfortunately, this is proving difficult for both forces.

I figure text is for the weak, all you want to see are the pictures anyways :D
